Houston, TX (#1)
Opened: 2000
Address: 10241 N Fwy
Theme: Oil Derrick
The first Fry's location in Houston was themed around the city's deep ties to the oil industry. The building's exterior was framed by tall pillars designed to look like oil derricks, while the theme continued inside with figures of workers on oil platforms, murals depicting the history of oil in Texas, and other nods to industry, such as a movie theater facade displaying a poster for the 1956 film Giant.
